Jubilæumsprojektet 2017-2024, Tønder Festival
Det er blevet til mere end 50 portrætter i løbet af de sidste 7 år. Siden 2017 har vi undersøgt festivalens DNA igennem møder og samtaler med musikere, frivillige, lokalhistorikere og andet godtfolk.
I anledningen af jubilæet er turen nu kommet til at portrættere publikum og de mange historier og ansigter, de bringer med til Tønder. Projektet hedder ikke uden grund FOLK TALES, for det er den folkelige ånd og sammenhængskraft, der interesserer os. Portrætterne laves i tekst og træ.

Jubilee Project 2024
/ collaborators: Tønder Festival, Museum Sønderjylland, Tønder Lokalhistoriske Arkiv og Kunstmuseet i Tønder
The exhibition included portraits of musicians, people and stories from the soil of the festival site and local history. All works were based on sketches and conversations from Tønder Festival 2017 until 2024.
The reliefs investigate the face through an expressive cutting process and play with the collapse of perspective. The texts relate to the subjects through the contexts that the subjects of the portrait carry from their home and local area.
The full portrait is located somewhere between image and text.
